Victoria Michaels is a certified Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher. She has practiced yoga for over 20 years and taught yoga since 2013. Previously Victoria worked for many years as a Registered Cardiothoracic nurse at both The Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. Having completed her initial diploma in Yoga Therapy with Yoga Campus, London, Victoria has gone on to further study with the internationally renowned Yoga Therapist Nischala Joy Devi, who specializes in adapting yoga for people with life-threatening illnesses. Victoria is the founder of Yoga Therapeutics and has a particular interest in working with clients who can benefit from a yoga practice that can be adapted for heart disease and cancer. However, Yoga Therapy can help support many other health conditions including stress, anxiety, depression, respiratory disorders, hypertension, insomnia, IBS, back pain, ME, arthritis and pain management. Her classes are focused upon the therapeutic benefits of yoga. By teaching small groups and individual classes it ensures each student receives a high degree of personal attention and classes can be tailored to individual needs. Compassion and care are at the core of Victoria’s teaching. This results in her students benefitting from the therapeutic and restorative benefits of yoga in a safe environment. Private and personalized Yoga Therapy sessions allow for a truly holistic approach to health and well-being and can help support a host of physical, emotional and mental health conditions. Victoria respects ancient yoga philosophy and current evidence-based research when teaching yoga for health and wellness. She integrates meditation, pranayama (breathing), Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) and gentle asana (postures) to promote a sense of balance mentally, physically and emotionally.
